MARAC is a Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference for the highest risk victims of domestic abuse.
The MARAC meeting combines up to date risk information with an assessment of the victim’s needs and to ensure the provision of appropriate services for the victim, any children and the perpetrator.
The objectives of MARAC are:
- to safeguard victims of domestic abuse;
- to manage the perpetrators’ behaviour;
- to safeguard professionals; and
- to make links with all other safeguarding processes
The victim does not attend the meeting but is represented by an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)
